face mask being applied

Face masks are not just for spas anymore.  There is nothing quite like the feeling of removing a luxurious, soothing facial mask to reveal glowing, refreshed skin underneath. There are many different kinds of masks geared to do many different kinds of things.  Some are made from a singular ingredient while others combine the benefits of multiple ingredients.  They may exfoliate, treat acne, remove excess oils, moisturize, and many other things.  Of course, if you want one that does everything, you will have to go to the Oro Gold store and browse their selection of high quality facials masks.

Using a mask usually involves spreading some formula over the face and allowing it to set for several minutes to a half hour. Whenever the time has expired, the mask is washed, wiped, or peeled away.

Exfoliating Masks

One way to instantly look refreshed is to remove the dead skin cells on the surface of your skin.  These masks can either be abrasive or chemical in nature.  Abrasive materials like sand or ground nuts will be added to a cream or clay based mask. These masks are applied, allowed to set, and then removed in a way that the abrasive materials scrub and exfoliate the skin. Chemical masks often use alpha-hydroxy acid to remove dead skin cells.

One last type of exfoliating mask is the gel mask.  A thin layer of gel is applied to the face and then allowed to dry.  The dried mask is then peeled away, bringing the dead skin cells along with it.

Clay Masks

Clay is a popular face mask, especially in spas and salons.  Clay masks are made from bentonite.  Bentonite is a non-toxic clay with an incredible absorbent quality.  This makes it ideal for removing the excess oils and can speed up the healing process of acne breakouts.  Although clay is the main ingredient, other ingredients can be mixed in to give the mask extra absorbing properties or to soothe and refresh skin.

Cream Masks

While clay masks help dry out the skin, cream masks help hydrate the skin.  These masks generally contain a mixture of extracts, nutrients, vitamins, and oils which will soften, smooth, and soothe the skin. Oro Gold cream masks are rich with all kinds of beneficial ingredients.  Cream masks will moisturize and rehydrate the skin, making it look youthful and healthy.  One type of cream mask is a self heating mask.  The ingredients contained within these masks will heat up once the mask is applied to your wet skin.  This has a two fold effect. First, it opens up pores, allowing them to be easily cleansed.  And second, it has a calming and relaxing effect on the wearer.

Oro Gold offers a variety of masks, including a collagen and caviar mask.  A face mask does not do much good if you do not have an entire skin care routine to work in conjunction with it.  For instance, after using a face mask, you should apply Oro Gold moisturizing day cream to lock in the moisture.

The spring season produces an usual workload. We have finals at school, spring cleaning at home, overtime at work, and of course, it is also tax season. All this extra work can really pile on the stress, and one thing we know about stress: it does not look pretty. The stress we experience shows up in our faces. Worry lines crease our forehead and dark bags fill in under our eyes. We lose the youthful glow in our skin, and overall, our faces look tired.

This is why popular blogger, Jennie Yuen reminds her readers about National Spa Week. A trip to the spa is exactly what the cosmetician ordered to undo all the physical damage this busy season has done to our appearance. And don’t worry if you don’t have the money, let alone the spare time, to go to a professional spa. Jennieyuen.blogspot. com compiles a list of spa treatments you can do at home, which produce professional results, without costing you those professional prices.

With summer just around the corner everyone is working overtime to complete final projects at school and get matters squared away at their jobs so they can indulge in some much-needed downtime. Unfortunately, racing against the clock to get vacation-ready leaves little time for the pampering we all need to look our best. Substituting painful facelifts and pricey manicures for equally effective at-home treatments can save us all some precious time—and leave extra cash in our wallets to splurge on that super-cute designer bathing suit!

Instead of Botox injections, use MitoQ:

MitoQ is a new anti-aging face cream considered to be the most potent antioxidant on the market to date. Officially launching in the United States this spring, it is the only topical cream proven to deliver ubiquinone to mitochondria at levels shown to have an immense effect in rejuvenating the cells, encouraging the natural production of collagen and elastin and leaving skin looking radiant with a lit-from-within glow. Simply apply it before your makeup and your skin will start to look refreshed within days—no needles required!
